I picked up a Nikon digital camera in 2010 and began taking pictures of everything that moved and didn't move. I have taken so many images that I use multiple hard drives to store images. Do you know how many images you have to take to start using a second hard drive? Trillions!!! But along the way I also became proficient at using my cell phone to capture awesome images and even some amazing videos.
When I shoot video, I have an opportunity to capture some of the funny real time moments that occur during conversations just before the moment I belt "say cheese!" and also just afterwards.
Additionally, when I shoot video, I have the opportunity to scan the video looking for the perfect photo where everyone's eyes are open and all the smiles look just right. When I have only a few people in my group, it is not very hard to get a decent picture; however, the larger the group, the more difficult it can become to get everyone on the same page.
- * With shooting the video, I did not have to be concerned about having blurry pictures due to poor lighting conditions.
- * I don't have to prompt anyone with the proverbial "say cheese!".
- * I don't have to take as much time ensuring that I have framed the scene correctly for my image.
